| MuLab 5 System Requirements | |
- Windows NT, Windows 2K, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.
- Apple: OSX 10.4 or higher.
- Powerful multi-core CPU highly recommended.
- Graphics resolution 1024 x 600 or better.
- Good soundcard/device with good driver.
Download the MuLab zip package and unzip it to a new folder on your harddisk or USB device.
After you have installed the MuLab package, double-click the MuLab application file to launch it.
MuLab comes as a self-containing folder. It does not install anything on your system outside this folder.
You can move the MuLab folder after you have installed it. You can even put it on a USB stick and carry your MuLab with you.
Tip: On Windows 7/8, it may be better not to install the Mulab folder under the 'Program Files' folder or any of its sub-folders, but e.g. in C:\Applications\Music\Mulab (or any other non-system folder). This is to avoid access problems caused by Windows' UAC/Virtual Store mechanisms.
Simply delete the MuLab folder. MuLab does not put any data outside the MuLab folder.
| Updating an existing MuLab installation | |
Take these steps:
- Follow the instructions above for a complete new installation.
- Goto your previous MuLab installation folder and copy the User sub-folder to the clipboard.
- Goto your new MuLab installation folder and delete the User sub-folder.
- Then paste the User sub-folder from the clipboard into the new MuLab installation folder.
This way, the new installation will use all your previous user settings and files.
| Inserting Your MuLab XT/UL User Key | |
When buying a User Key for MuLab XT or MuLab UL, you instantly get an Initial User Key that you can use immediately.
Note however that this Initial User Key is only valid for a limited time.
Soon after your purchase, and certainly before the Initial User Key becomes invalid, you'll also receive your Personal User Key via email.
Make sure you also enter your Personal User Key as that's the permanent one.
A MuLab User Key starts with [ and ends with a with ] for example [MuLab5UL#hTgz8K-j...sUa+OQ8]
Launch MuLab, click the MULAB menu and choose "Insert User Key".
Copy the User Key to the clipboard, and paste it into the License Key field. This will realize your MuLab XT/UL.
Note that if you were already hearing the demo noise (see details) it may take a couple of minutes before the demo noise disappears. Alternatively you could restart MuLab.
| Removing Your MuLab XT/UL User Key | |
Launch MuLab, click the MULAB menu and choose "Insert User Key".
Just click OK while the License Key field stays empty. You'll get the question "Are you sure to remove your user key?". Click "Yes".
