MU.LAB Docs Troubleshooting

Synthia -> Amplifier Panel -> Gain doesn't go below 70%

Though it may look like a bug, in fact it's normal behaviour that is a consequence of how MU.LAB works:

The Gain parameter in the Amplifier subpanel is also controlled by a Meta Parameter on the front panel i.e. "Limiter".

If Limiter is all down, then Gain = 70%, if Limiter is all up, then Gain = 100%.

And so when changing the Gain parameter itself, this Meta Parameter is updated too so to maintain parameter value consistency.

OSX

On startup MU.LAB alerts: "Can't find graphic resources -> quitting".

On some OSX systems (mostly 10.5), there seems to be an incompatibility between MU.LAB and OSX.

At this point we could not yet discover the reason for this.

If you have a minute of time, please let us know your system configuration (mac model + processor type + OSX version) so that we can collect more pieces of the OSX puzzle. Mail to . Thanks in advance.

Launching MU.LAB for the first time on my multi-monitor system only gives a white window.

It could be that MU.LAB is suffering from an internal OSX quirck.

Try disconnecting the second monitor and try again. Once you have agreed on the License Agreement, and MU.LAB is running, quit MU.LAB, reconnect the second monitor, and relaunch MU.LAB. Doing this may make it all work OK.

Of course we regret having to offer such workarounds, but in our opinion it is OSX which is to blame. And we won't invest our precious development time to r&d workarounds for OSX quircks, especially when OSX is likely to change everything again in its next update. We're doing our best to make MU.LAB as OSX compatible as possible, but we really hope OSX will soon stabelize, API-wise.

In MU.LAB's Audio Setup, only audio input OR audio output show up. When selecting audio input, MU.LAB doesn't play, but when selecting audio output, you can't record anything.

It's an OSX issue.

On systems with Mac OS X 10.4 or later, sometimes the audio input and output use separate drivers, and thus show up as separate devices in audio applications, leading to the fact that you can't use both at the same time.

The solution is to make an aggregate device that uses the input/output from different audio devices on your system, and showing up as 1 device in audio applications.

This can be done via OSX' Audio MIDI Setup.

Windows

On startup MU.LAB alerts: "Can't find graphic resources -> quitting".

Make sure you unzip the MU.LAB zip package with the "Use Folder Names" option enabled!

MU.LAB alerts "No ASIO Devices Found"

MU.LAB indeed needs an ASIO driver for your sound card.

ASIO is the best sound driver protocol for Windows.

If you don't have ASIO drivers on your system, then you can try ASIO 4 ALL ( http://www.asio4all.com ) to make your sound card ASIO compatible.

The CPU meter is behaving strange.

It's a Windows issue.
